We saw quite a few great cameras in the year 2014. But which ones made it to the list of best cameras of 2014. If you were confused by the jargon and are looking for a quick review of some of the best digital or compact camera that’ll do your job, we have a quick guide to help you out.
Nikon D3300

Canon EOS 1200D
Canon’s answer to the D3300, the image quality is nearly the same as its competitor, in spite of the fact that the 1200 D has a lower sounding 18 MP resolution. The major difference is the off-camera companion app to help you with image capture and manipulation as opposed to Nikon’s in camera version. Eventually this boils down to a personal choice since both are quite evenly matched in all other aspects.
Nikon D610
If you’re looking for a full frame DSLR, the widely quoted holy grail of DSLR photography, but you’re on a tight budget, the D610 is definitely worth considering. The 24 MP resolution suffices for most who are just looking for a quick inroad into DSLR photography, and superior image quality as compared to previously mentioned entry level cameras, investing in this model would definitely be a good idea.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II
The camera that has it all – well, nearly. A heavily improved autofocus system, great battery life, and an impressive detail given the fine resolution exposure meter, the only complaints you’ll have is the lack of wifi integration, and no 4K video capture. But these hardly suffice to constitute a dealbreaker – the Mark II is a great choice even with a 20.2 MP lens, yielding superior images. A strong opponent for the D610.

Sony Alpha A99
The list can’t possibly be complete without a camera designed with movie capture in mind. And the best cameraof the lot has to be the Alpha A99. Featuring a silent control wheel to the front of the camera for live adjustment during recording, it creates stunning 1080p shots, and in the hands of the right cameraman, will definitely show its mettle. Even for the beginner, the silent and fast autofocus ensure that even the bare minimum for the Alpha A99 is a lofty peak. This is definitely a top camera of 2014, unless you want to wait for the A99 II which is rumoured to be showing off Sony’s 4K abilities.

Nikon D4S
The Ferrari of DSLR cameras, this one is for the pros. Even though it’s still a work in progress yet to show its full capabilities that’ll be more fully explored in its successors, it’s still a beast of a camera, with the normal settings recommended for those who aren’t very sure about its bewilderingly wide array of extended settings, but no matter what, the D4 ably assists you in picking the best of shots. A priceless tool in the hands of the right person.
